Chinese Language Teaching Department of Language and Culture Center holds end-of-semester review meeting on TCSOL

On the morning of June 16, the Chinese Language Teaching at the LCC held its end-of-semester review meeting on the TCSOL in J102. 28 Chinese teachers, Director Ren Xiaofei of the Language and Culture Center, Deputy Director Xie Zhifang and Associate Professor Qiao Fang attended the meeting presided over by Tang Ming, Director of the Chinese Language Teaching at the LCC.

At the symposium, Director Ren Xiaofei extended her thanks to Chinese faculties for their hard work, and her wishes for the future work after the Language and Culture Center and the School of Liberal Arts were put under the common leadership. Deputy Director Xie Zhifang, who is also the superintendent of the Chinese teaching at the Language and Culture Center, fully affirmed the teaching performance of the Chinese faculties in the past, but she also pointed out the problems facing the Chinese faculties in both teaching and research and what effort they should make in the future to solve these problems. Associate Professor Qiao Fang reported the work by the Department of Chinese Language Teaching that had been in this semester on Chinese teaching, “Thematic Chinese” activities, cross-cultural communicative activities, overseas students and the Confucius Institute recruitment, HSK, short-term programs, overseas study in China quality certification, the Chinese classic chanting contest, the reception of visitors from sister schools or colleges, the reception of foreign delegations in China, the LOGO design for the Language and Culture Center and so on. She finally extended her sincere gratitude to the faculties for the hard work that had been done in this semester. Both the full-time and part-time Chinese teachers pointed out the difficulties they had met with in teaching practice and extended their wishes for going abroad for further study.

The review meeting was one of unity that did a comprehensive summary on the work in this semester of the Chinese Language Teaching Department of the Language and Culture Center, and promoted the mutual communication and understanding between its administrative staffs and teaching faculties. It would have a positive influence on the healthy development of the Chinese Language Teaching in our university. After the meeting was over, the participants also attended a simulation on “Chinese Bridge--Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreigners across the Globe, where they gave much guidance to the contestants.
