JSU International Students Won Excellent Achievements in the 2022 "Shared Joy in Jiangsu" Chinese Speech Contest for Foreigners

Jointly sponsored by Information Office of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, and hosted by Jiangsu Provincial Radio and Television Group, the 2022 " Shared Joy in Jiangsu " Chinese Speech Competition for Foreigners has come to a successful conclusion. After fierce competition, the international students of our school have won many awards such as the second prize in the Final of Jiangsu Province.

The theme of this competition is "China in Poetry". The competition requires participants to interpret classical poetry as an introduction to demonstrate their understanding of classical Chinese culture. The competition aims to help foreigners perceive Chinese history and culture, and enhance cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and foreign countries.

Thidarat Vatathanavaro won the second prize in the finals and the first prize in the South Jiangsu Competition. Nururdinova Gulnaz won the third prize in the Grand Final and the second prize in the South Jiangsu Division. Jakayi Victor Magnafam won the second prize in the South Jiangsu Competition. Supitcha Pulputtapong and Mireya de los Angeles Garcia Flores won the third prize in the Sunan division. Pulkit Sharma, Atena Ahmadian, Diego Sebastian and Misaki Kishimoto received participation awards. The students expressed their deep understanding of Chinese culture by interpreting famous poems such as In the Still of the Night. Their advisors Xu Dan, Li Yan, Meng Huixin and Guo Wanying received the "Outstanding Advisor Award".

"Tongle Jiangsu" Foreigner Speech Contest is one of the most influential foreigner culture competitions in Jiangsu Province. It is an important platform for foreigners to learn Chinese and understand Chinese culture and local culture of Jiangsu. Since the opening of the competition in May, the Language and Culture Center has actively organized international students to participate in the selection and training, which has fully stimulated the enthusiasm of international students to learn Chinese, and demonstrated the excellent results of international Chinese education and international student training in our school.
