Ms. Zhai Jiang Honored as One of the Top Ten Student-Favorite Teachers

 at Jiangsu University

Recently, the list of Jiangsu University’s Top Ten Most Popular Teachers for 2026 was officially released. Ms. Zhai Jiang from the School of Liberal Arts (Center for Language and Culture) has won this honor. With this award, five teachers from the School of Liberal Arts have received this prestigious title to date.

Ms. Zhai Jiang has long been engaged in teaching Chinese to international students, promoting Chinese culture and conducting cross-cultural research. She claimed first prize in the university’s Bilingual and English-Medium Teaching Final Competition. She has published numerous papers in core journals, participated in several monographs and textbooks, and led or taken part in many research projects at national, provincial, municipal and university levels.

In teaching, she adheres to the educational philosophy of “seeing every student” and moves away from an evaluation system that focuses solely on grades and final outcomes. She has built diverse platforms for international students, including competitions, performances and cultural exchange events. Under her guidance, her students have appeared on stages such as CCTV and the United Nations, achieving repeated breakthroughs in contests. She integrates teaching research outcomes into lessons to create an immersive, practice-oriented Chinese classroom. In addition, she cares about students’ daily life and mental well-being, provides targeted academic support for students at different levels, and organizes group birthday celebrations and urban study tours. She helps international students gain a well-rounded understanding of contemporary China and builds bridges through language to advance exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations.

“The essence of education is not to select the outstanding, but to fulfil every passion.” Ms. Zhai Jiang puts this belief into practice. Using language as a bridge and staying true to her mission as an educator, she supports students on their overseas learning journeys and lights up their path of growth with patience and warmth.
