School of Liberal Arts (Language and Culture Center) Hosts the AI-enabled Teaching Training Program for Teachers of Jurong Secondary Specialized School

On the morning of August 24, the special training program *AI-enabled Teaching for Teachers’ Capacity Building* for Jiangsu Jurong Secondary Specialized School, hosted by the School of Liberal Arts (Language and Culture Center) of Jiangsu University, officially opened in Meeting Room 1701, Sanjiang Building. Chen Hong, Vice President of Jiangsu University, Zhang Zhengjue, Principal of Jiangsu Jurong Secondary Specialized School, Zhu Lingping, Party Secretary of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Yuan Junjie, Director of the Continuing Education Division, attended the opening ceremony. Yu Hongyan, Dean of the School of Liberal Arts, presided over the ceremony. Zhou Du and Wu Xianlin, Vice Deans of the School of Liberal Arts, together with key teachers, research group leaders and teaching administrators from Jurong Secondary Specialized School, were present at the event.

In her speech, Chen Hong noted that against the backdrop of the nationwide implementation of the Ministry of Education’s *AI + Education* Action Plan, AI-enabled teaching has become an inevitable requirement for vocational education reform. She encouraged participating teachers to update their mindsets, embrace technological changes, pioneer educational innovation, integrate learning with practice, and advance university-local cooperation. She hoped the outcomes of the training could be translated into tangible teaching improvements, and that this program would serve as a bond to foster long-term collaborative ties between the two institutions.

Zhang Zhengjue stressed that young teachers form the core workforce for the school’s pursuit of the *Four Haves* goals, and the school is committed to building a high-caliber teaching team. He put forward three requirements for participants: raise awareness and take initiative in learning; combine learning with reflection to boost overall competence; maintain self-discipline and abide by training rules, and cherish this valuable learning opportunity.

Yu Hongyan extended a warm welcome to all teachers from Jurong Secondary Specialized School. She introduced that the training is tailor-made to match the school’s program development and teachers’ professional needs. Centered on refreshing educational philosophies, improving teaching skills and broadening research horizons, it aims to help participants “come with questions and leave with solutions”.

Ye Hanxiao said that teachers at secondary vocational schools, working on the front line of teaching and management, are in urgent need of further training to recharge themselves. On behalf of all trainees, she pledged to observe discipline, maintain a rigorous academic attitude, engage in in-depth study and peer exchange, and apply what they learn to teaching practice.

The training focuses on two major themes: AI-enabled teaching and the improvement of professional curriculum teaching capacity. It consists of three modules: application of AI teaching tools, instructional design optimization, and field visits and exchanges. Adopting lectures, workshops and inter-school exchanges, the program helps teachers renew their ideas and refine professional skills.

This training marks an important initiative of Jiangsu University to leverage its academic strengths and support the digital transformation of vocational education. It creates a platform for inter-school communication, promotes the in-depth integration of artificial intelligence and vocational classrooms, and injects new momentum into the high-quality development of regional vocational education.
