Recently, a team of international students from BFSU has received a good news in the 2024 “Understanding Contemporary China” Chinese Short Video Competition, and its work “Exploring <Mengxi Pen Tan>, Sharing Science and Technology Culture” (Teachers: Sun Yue and Tang Min) has successfully advanced to the National Competition.

The competition was jointly organized by Beijing Foreign Studies University and Beijing Language and Culture University and undertaken by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Publishing House. The organizing committee of the competition received a total of 289 short video works, and 572 international students from 76 countries registered for the competition.

The international students' work “Exploring <Mengxi Pen Tan>, Sharing the Culture of Science and Technology” sent by our university was filmed by three international students, Ngo Liu Nguyen Linh from Vietnam, Hakobi from Bangladesh and Mayana from Comoros, whose superb performances and outstanding performances gained unanimous favorable comments from the judges and the audience. After two rounds of cross anonymous judging, they successfully advanced to the top 60 with their deep cultural heritage, unique creative perspectives and superb production skills. This advancement to the national competition is a recognition of the efforts of our international student team and our efforts in promoting cultural exchange and science and technology dissemination. We expect our international student team to make persistent efforts in the upcoming national competition, show the charm of Chinese culture with even better performance, and strive for better results.
