In the afternoon of November 18th, Prof. Ren Xiaofei led Chinese Teacher Scholarship students and exchange students to Beigu Mountain for an in-depth study of the Chinese Classics Recitation Program.
On the way, Prof. Ren Xiaofei shared with the international students the development of Chinese chanting and literary classics. At the entrance of Beigu Mountain, volunteer student Luo Linpeng led the recitation of Xin Qiji's “Yongyoule - Jingkou Beigu Pavilion Huaigu”, and the international students recited the poem with passionate tones to understand the meaning of “Lian Po is old, but can he still eat”.
Along the ancient Dongwu Road, walking through the mottled steps, passing through the Pavilion of Offering to the River, and arriving at the Multi-view Building, which coincided with the Chrysanthemum Exhibition, the famous poems and lyrics about chrysanthemums of the ancients were displayed at the entrance, which attracted many people to stop by, and Prof. Ren Xiaofei guided the students to appreciate the idleness of “picking chrysanthemums under the East Fence and seeing the South Mountain at ease” of Tao Yuanming, and “preferring chrysanthemums among flowers, this flower is not a flower of the world. The students were pleased with the unexpected harvest.
Laughing all the way, we finally came to the Beigu Building. On the second floor of Beigu Building, there are many masterpieces of calligraphy on display, and international students marveled at the wonders of Chinese characters; at the corner of the staircase, they were greeted by Professor Li Jinkun, a retired teacher of the College of Letters, who wrote the “Record of Restoration of Beigu Building”, which is concise in language and deep in rhythm, and teachers and students were proud of it. Climbed to the top of the observation deck, a wide field of vision, the vast Yangtze River and the sky, the maple leaves red, ginkgo yellow, rich autumn colors in front of us, a nice south of the Yangtze River scenery. According to the teaching plan, here to learn another famous poem of Xin Qiji - “Nanxiangzi 登京口北固亭有怀”, everyone is full of enthusiasm, chanting “Where to look at the Divine Kingdom, full of scenery Beigulou”, leaving their voices in this ancient building.
Finally, the teachers and students took a group photo by the stone carving of “The First River and Mountain in the World”, which drew a successful conclusion for this activity.
