The international student's work “Exploring ‘Mengxi Pen Tan’ and Sharing Science and Technology Culture”, selected by Jiangsu University, won the gold medal in the 2024 “Understanding Contemporary China” Chinese Short Video Competition, and won the second place in the country.

Since the opening of registration, the 2024 “Understanding Contemporary China” Chinese Short Video Competition for International Students has attracted 572 international students from 76 countries, and received 289 short video entries from 137 universities and colleges in 27 provinces across China. After five months of fierce competition in the provincial and national competitions since the opening of the contest in July, the work selected by Jiangsu University was successfully selected as one of the top 20 works in the country after several rounds of cross anonymous judging by experts, and was promoted to the national finals for on-site defense.

This work was produced by international students from different countries, Wu Liu Yuling, Manaya and Hakobi, and was completed under the careful guidance of teachers Sun Yue, Tang Min and Chen Yusan. At the same time, the work integrates ancient scientific and technological wisdom with the concept of green development in contemporary China, meticulously excavates the ecological prevention and control story of “curing insects with insects” in “Mengxi Bianzhan”, and feels China's unremitting exploration on the road of green development, and perfectly combines the vigorous scientific and technological China with the history of Mengxi Bianzhan, realizing the perfect fusion between the historical and cultural big country and the emerging The perfect integration between the historical and cultural power and the emerging scientific and technological power. In the end, after the stimulating competition, the international students from Jiangsu University explained the creative ideas behind the works, the essence of Chinese science and technology culture and the concept of green development in contemporary China with fluent and infectious expressions.
