To know monk Fahai from the Temple Wall Carving

On the morning of July 22, "Root     seeking Tour" summer camp came to Jinshan Temple, where     the fourth day of camp started.

The Jinshan Temple, known as "a lotus in the middle of     the river", is built along the mountain.The famous Chinese folk legend     of the White Snake happened here.

The campers followed the interpreter to the     temple. The first one to enter is the Heavenly King Hall, with the     four large characters "Eastern Jin Ancient Temple" inscribed by     Zhao Puchu on the front wall. The campers listened attentively to the     explanation and carefully observed the entire hall.

Out from the Temple of Heavenly Kings is     Cishou Tower,The campers noticed the carving on the outer wall and learned     the story of the carving and the story of Yue Fei, also they got a new     impression of monk Fahai, who was acctuall a honorable man in history

Then the campers climbed up to Jinshan, overlooking the     Yangtze River.The campers were very curious about the stone tablet with the     inscription “JiangTianYiLan", so they asked the guide about its     origin. The guide explained in detail to the campers the origin of     this monument and the story of it, satisfying the curiosity of thecampers     and increasing their knowledge.

This event will allow the campers to     experience the profound cultural heritage of Jinshan and the beautiful     scenery of Zhenjiang. The event combines visiting Jinshan Temple with     the legendary story of "The Legend of the White Snake", unraveling     the misconceptions of the campers about the true image of Fahai in history,     making the flat story more three-dimensional and vivid, helping the campers     better understand the charm of folk legends and increase their interest in     Chinese culture.
