Ren Xiaofei elected as the chairman of Zhenjiang Overseas Chinese Education Alliance Council in the first council meeting

On the afternoon of April 24th, the first meeting of Zhenjiang Overseas Chinese Education Alliance Council and Zhenjiang Chinese Education Promotion Meeting were held in Biyuyuan.

The meeting elected the first Chairman and Secretary General of the Alliance Council. Professor Ren Xiaofei and Jiang Yonghua were elected as the first Chairman and the Secretary General of the Board of Directors respectively. The meeting focused on Chinese language education in 2023 and the rotation order of Council Members.

At the meeting, Zhou Kaifen ,Wang Jing, and Ren Xiaofei shared experiences on Chinese education and Sino exchange and cooperation respectively.

The Zhenjiang Overseas Chinese Education Alliance and Zhenjiang Hongqi Primary School have signed Friendly Cooperation Agreements with German Chinese School Federation and German Hanhua Chinese School respectively.

At the meeting, the members selected for the first batch of Jiangsu Province's Huawen (Chinese language and culture) Education Expert Talent Pool were presented with appointment letters. One individual, Ren Xiaofei, was selected as a Huawen Education Expert, and nine individuals, including Li Qin from Jiangsu Province Dagang Middle School, were selected as members of the Huawen Education Talent Pool. In recent years, the School of Literature (Language and Culture Center) has delved deep into the development of Huawen education, making significant strides in various aspects such as infrastructure construction, scientific research, and distinctive activities.

For consecutive years, the School of Literature has organized activities such as the "Root-Seeking Journey" winter camp for overseas Chinese youth, the "Family Connection with China: Sharing Stories with You" online summer camp, and online Chinese language learning camps for overseas Chinese and Chinese expatriate children. Collaborative agreements have been signed with the Botswana Huawen Education Guidance Center and the New Zealand Xinhua Education Chinese School.

The School of Literature's efforts have been recognized, receiving commendations in the reports on research findings from the national overseas Chinese contact system for two consecutive years. These endeavors have made positive contributions to enhancing the dissemination of Chinese civilization, serving the cultural development of the Zhenjiang region, and contributing to overseas united front work.
