The Second Session of Chinese Corner Activity Held Successfully

On the afternoon of May 24, the Language and Culture Center held the second session of the "Fun with Chinese, Joy Nonstop" Chinese Corner in Building 1 of Jingjiang Tower. Under the guidance of Teacher Tang Min, interns majoring in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages meticulously planned and organized this activity. More than 30 international students engaged in immersive Chinese learning through five distinctive game sessions, turning the venue into a vivid classroom for cross-cultural communication.

The activity consisted of five sessions, namely "Fill-in-the-Blank Q&A: Who Dares to Challenge Me", "Word Solitaire: Who Will Compete with Me", "Chinese Lacquered Fan Making: Who Will Paint with Me", "Fun Chinese: Who Knows Better Than Me" and "Music & Q&A: Who Dares to Take the Quiz". The first four sessions were carried out simultaneously, allowing participants to form teams freely and choose their preferred games, while the final session, music-based Q&A, was held as a group activity.

Each session featured remarkable highlights: the Q&A session helped consolidate basic Chinese knowledge; the word solitaire game honed the participants’ vocabulary application and quick-response abilities; the lacquered fan making integrated traditional craftsmanship with oral expression; the fun Chinese quiz tested team collaboration; and the music & Q&A session enabled everyone to experience the rhythm of the Chinese language through music.

At the end of the activity, first, second and third prizes were awarded, and all participants received souvenirs. This activity not only improved international students’ listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in Chinese and stimulated their interest in learning the language, but also built a platform for cross-cultural communication, facilitating the integration and dissemination of diverse cultures.
