On June 26, 2022, the Language and Culture Center successfully hosted the first day of the regular Zhenjiang section of the 2022 online summer camp "Family and China · Tell Stories for You""Reviewing History at the Xijin Ferry, and Listening to the Myth of White Snake in Jinshan Temple”.

1. Highly valued and well organized

Since receiving the task, the language and culture Center has established a five-member working group with Ren Xiaofei, director of the language and culture Center, as the group leader and Jiang Yonghua as the deputy group leader, and carried out a clear division of labor. Among them, Tian Haihong is responsible for docking with provincial and municipal overseas Chinese associations, and Li Hongyan and Ding Jinyan are responsible for topic selection and lesson preparation.

2. Careful topic selection and preparation

Under the guidance of the provincial and municipal overseas Chinese federations, the working group held several seminars as required to learn and understand the work ideas and concepts of the provincial overseas Chinese federations on this year's operation, and strive to make the curriculum reflect the characteristics of Zhenjiang and be easy to understand. In the end, Xijin Ferry and Jinshan Temple, two cultural landscapes with the most regional characteristics of Zhenjiang, were selected as the teaching content.

The two teachers collected a large number of materials related to the course through various ways, such as data review, field trip and visit to Zhenjiang Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, which made full preparation for the later shooting and production. In order to achieve the best teaching effect, Li Hongyan and Ding Jinyan adopted two methods of studio recording and field recording respectively. Ding Jinyan's three days of shooting work were carried out outdoors in the high temperature of 38 degrees centigrade. He made great efforts to make the event a success.

3. In-depth discussion, joint construction and sharing

The Zhenjiang section of the summer camp was organized by the Language and Culture Center of Jiangsu University, Yangzhong Technical Secondary School and Yanhuang Foreign Language School. In order to coordinate the teaching style, the Language and Culture Center of Jiangsu University held the "Zhenjiang Camp Seminar for Overseas Chinese Youth Online Summer Camp" on June 19, which conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the live broadcast methods and contents of the course, and shared the experience of running the camp over the years.

4. A wonderful course that combines education with entertainment

Ding Jinyan explained the historical origin of Xijin Ferry to overseas Chinese teenagers by walking along Xijin Ferry Ancient Street in person. Li Hongyan shared Jinshan Temple culture with overseas Chinese teenagers through classroom teaching and student interaction.

Through two lessons, overseas Chinese teenagers have a more detailed understanding of the landmark cultural landscape of Zhenjiang, Xijin Ferry and Jinshan Temple. They not only actively interacted with the teacher in class and answered the teacher's questions, but also showed their learning achievements after class by painting, video shooting, reciting or writing ancient poems.
