Date:2022-06-22 View:

On June 19, the Zhenjiang Camp Seminar of the 2022 Online Summer Camp for Chinese Overseas Youth was held at the Language and Culture Center.

Professor Ren Xiaofei, Director of the Language and Culture Centre, delivered a welcoming speech. She introduced to the guests that the College of Arts (Language and Culture Center) is committed to inheriting and promoting the excellent traditional Chinese culture (especially the regional culture of Zhenjiang) and a lot of important work has been carried out and a series of achievements have been made in the dissemination of Chinese fine culture in recent years. In particular, the Language and Culture Center has made fruitful exploration and practice in high-level platform construction, high-level project development and "three integrity education". The online and offline activities of ethnic Chinese youth have been fully recognized by the superior departments, and highly praised by overseas Chinese teenagers and parents.

Li Hongyan and Ding Jinyan, teachers of the Language and Culture Center of Jiangsu University, made a detailed curriculum design and introduction around the two courses of the summer camp, "Cloud Tour to the Xijin Ferry" and "Tour to the Jinshan Temple". The participants had an in-depth exchange and discussion on the way and content of the course live broadcast. The representative of the technical team in charge of the live broadcast and the person in charge of Jinshan.com expressed their opinions on how to immerse the summer camp activities and how to improve the fluency and rhythm of the live broadcast.

Finally, Wang Yongxin, Chairman of The Federation of Zhenjiang Returned Overseas Chinese, made a summary speech. He said that this year's online summer camp in Zhenjiang has one regular camp and two special camps, so the content is rich, and he is also very grateful to the five units and Jinshan network for their strong support for the activity. Wang Yongxin requested that the online summer camp must be targeted, and actively consider how to let overseas Chinese teenagers learn to listen to Chinese, learn to write Chinese, learn to listen to stories, and learn to tell stories. Wang Yongxin also said that when planning summer camp activities, we should design activities from the perspective of children. Designers can consider adding cartoon materials appropriately to enhance their attraction to overseas Chinese teenagers. At the same time, the activity design should properly handle the three relationships of teaching and learning, big and small, and separation and integration, vividly publicize Chinese culture, improve the interest of overseas Chinese teenagers in learning Chinese, and enhance their feelings for their homeland.

The seminar was also attended by relevant staff of The Federation of Zhenjiang Returned Overseas Chinese, technicians of Jinshan.com, and representatives of work units participating in the summer camp. Jiang Yonghua, Deputy Director of the Language and Culture Center of Jiangsu University, presided over the seminar.
