On the afternoon of July 20, 2024, all the campers  of the “China Roots Journey” Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province “Longyinqinyun” camp were led by their teachers to experience the Song Dynasty tea-dotting technique and the traditional Chinese art of paper folding.

At the beginning of the activity, Song Lianxian, the non-hereditary heir to the Song Dynasty tea ceremony, wished the campers good luck and invited Li Ruihan to come up to the stage to show the tea utensils needed for tea ceremony. After the tea knowledge explanation, the teacher on-site for the campers to show the Song Dynasty tea exquisite skills, injection of soup, hit the whisk and a series of actions pleasing to the eye, full of interest, students can not wait to experience some.

Subsequently, under the guidance of the teacher, students had hands-on experience, and show each other their own made tea soup, hands and feet show the beauty of the etiquette and deep heritage of Chinese tea culture.

After the tea ordering program, the campers proceeded to learn traditional Chinese origami. Ms. Shi Xin first presented all the campers with handmade origami works, which was a great surprise to the overseas Chinese youth.

The campers followed the teacher's step-by-step origami attempts, and with the students' mutual help, all of them completed their own origami works. Origami carries people's good wishes and prayers for the future, and many of the campers said they would like to give their creations to their loved ones.

Today, by participating in the two traditional skills of tea ordering and origami, the Chinese youth were able to experience the extraordinary flavor and unique charm of traditional Chinese culture. Their love and recognition of Chinese culture will be the driving force for them to continue to learn Chinese well and pass on Chinese culture.
