On the evening of July 19, the 2024 “China Roots Journey” summer camp in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province, “Longyinqinyun” camp had a dumpling-making and eating experience in the staff cafeteria of Jiangsu University, which aroused the campers' deep feelings for their hometown with the unique Chinese traditional food.
Ms. Ding introduced the process of making dumplings to the campers, which consists of four steps: mixing, kneading, rolling and wrapping the dumplings.
After listening to the introduction, some campers went to the experience area of each step to learn from the teacher, ready to show off their skills, while others couldn't wait to take the
ingredients and start making dumplings.Teachers and campers were very skillful and made a lot of exquisite and beautiful dumplings.
After that, the cafeteria staff cooked the dumplings in the pot and the campers ate the dumplings they had made with their own hands and praised them, dipping them in vinegar and chili pepper and eating them one by one.
These seemingly small dumplings are in fact the most unbreakable emotional bond between overseas Chinese and their homeland, which has always been tied to their hometown and thousands of overseas Chinese.
