Teacher-Student Cultural Exchange Delegations from Francis Basset Girls' School and Fortismere School (UK) Visit the Language and Culture Center

On December 12, teacher-student cultural exchange delegations from Francis Basset Girls' School and Fortismere School of the UK visited the Language and Culture Center of Jiangsu University. Professor Ren Xiaofei, Dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Director of the Language and Culture Center of Jiangsu University, attended the event and delivered a speech, introducing the university’s history and development achievements to the teachers and students of the delegations.

During the event, on behalf of the school and the center, Professor Ren Xiaofei presented the delegations with bilingual and multi-functional series textbooks of ancient Chinese enlightenment classics—Thousand-Character Classic and Three-Character Classic—which were compiled under her chief editorship. She expressed the hope that these textbooks, integrating traditional culture with modern education, would further promote the international dissemination and understanding of fine traditional Chinese culture.

Subsequently, Ms. Wu Yunli from the School of Liberal Arts of Jiangsu University, together with her students, presented a guqin art demonstration and performed classic pieces including Jiu Kuang (Wine Madness). Amid the melodious guqin tunes, under the guidance of Ms. Wu and volunteers, the students of the delegations tried playing the guqin in person, experiencing the unique charm of this traditional Chinese musical instrument up close.

During their visit, the delegations also toured the History Museum and Library of Jiangsu University, gaining an in-depth understanding of the university’s development course and academic resources.
