On August 28, the National Innovation and Development Strategy Research Association and Beijing Language and Culture University jointly held the final of the Chinese speech contest of "A Community with A Shared Future for Mankind in the Eyes of Young People from Different Countries" in Beijing. Michael Lordmark Mubaiwa (杨靖), a Zimbabwean student of our school, won the national second prize.

The purpose of holding this competition is to implement the spirit of President Xi’s important speech "Building an international development knowledge and experience exchange platform and jointly launching the global youth development action plan" proposed at the "Global Development High Level Dialogue". Since March 2022, after global solicitation, preliminary screening, tutor guidance and semi-final evaluation, a total of 19 finalists from 16 countries have entered the final from 109 contestant.

The competition was hosted by Xu Baofeng, director of the World Sinology Center of Beijing Language and Culture University and president of the the Belt and Road Research Institute. Cao Wei, deputy secretary general of the National Society of Innovation and Development Strategy, Sun Jianhua, deputy secretary general of the International Federation of Confucianism, and Zhang Yan, host, chief announcer and winner of the China Journalism Award, served as the Chinese judges. Faiza Kab, a foreign expert on Renmin. com, Alessandro Martini, an Italian representative of Informal Talks, the champion of the first 100 nation Youth Speech Contest and an alumnus of Beijing Language and Culture University, served as the foreign judge. The China Media Group, China Education Television, Beijing TV, Xinhuanet.com, Guangming Daily, China News Service and many other well-known media participated in the on-site report. The 19 finalists competed on the same stage, presenting "Youth Innovation and Development" on topics such as science and technology, environmental protection, translation, teaching and cultural exchange. They put into practice the vision of Beijing Language and Culture University of "telling China and living in harmony with the world" with their unique perspectives and ideas.

From the unique perspective of "cultural communication", Yang Jing, a student from our school, discussed how young people should "tell the story of China well". Through Vlog presentation, theme exposition and on-site defense, he presented his past efforts, achievements and future plans in disseminating excellent Chinese culture. His performance was highly appreciated by the judges, and finally he won the national second prize with excellent results.

Through this contest, young people from both China and foreign countries can enhance mutual understanding, gain friendship and grow together through mutual learning, and build a community with a shared future for mankind with the strength of youth. Yang Jing's excellent results also demonstrate the quality and reputation of our international Chinese language education.
