Date:2022-07-01 View:

On May 28, the results of the Chinese speech contest and the China-Foreign Youth Dialogue jointly sponsored by the National Society for Innovation and Development Strategy and Beijing Language and Culture University were announced. Michael Lordmark Mubaiwa, an international student in our school, entered the final with excellent results.

In the past 3 months, after global solicitation, preliminary screening, mentor guidance and semi-final evaluation, a total of 20 contestants from 17 countries have been promoted from 109 contestants. Focusing on the themes of science and technology, environmental protection, translation, teaching and cultural exchange, the competition tells the story of "the future of the world and the responsibility of young people" from the perspective of youth, interprets the spirit of a community with a shared future for mankind, and implements the vision of Beijing Language and Culture University of "China's amity with the world".

In combination with the medical study experience in Jiangsu University and the Guqin study experience in Zhenjiang, Yang Jing proposed that the "kindhearted heart" of medicine and the "harmony" realm of Guqin are similar to the proposal of "a community with a shared future for mankind". He not only called on young people all over the world to join hands to write a vigorous and magnificent chapter for the future of mankind, but also expressed his great ideal of medical work to save the dying and heal the wounded and promote cultural exchanges between China and Africa.

Yang Jing's excellent performance in the semi-final was highly praised by the judges of the competition and he was invited to participate in the offline finals on Aug 18, 2022. The Language and Culture Center has done a lot of work for the preparation, and decided that Jiang Yonghua, vice president of the College of Arts and deputy director of the language and culture Center, will personally accompany and guide Yang Jing to participate in the final, helping Yang Jing to achieve further success in the contest.
