The Language and Culture Center organized two successful "Chinese Tea Art" industry-education integration practice activities at the Runmingyuan Vocational Training School in Jingkou District, Zhenjiang City, on May 8th and 15th, respectively.
During these activities, international students first learned about the origin and development of Chinese tea, the varieties and classifications of tea, as well as the culinary and medicinal value of tea. Following this, tea masters explained Chinese tea etiquette, which is the basic etiquette observed during the tea-drinking process, reflecting the core value of "Courtesy is the essence" in traditional culture.
Finally, the tea masters demonstrated the art of brewing tea, and the students had the opportunity to experience the basic steps of brewing tea using a lidded bowl, known as the "Ten Steps of Tea." This was the most exciting part of the event, as everyone followed the tea masters closely, learning each step of tea preparation diligently.
Through this experiential learning activity centered around tea culture, international students gained an understanding of the formation and meaning of Chinese characters and anecdotes related to "tea." They also experienced the profound historical heritage of fragrant tea culture and Chinese civilization.
This innovative project, rooted in excellent traditional Chinese culture, not only allows international students to experience the life of tea makers but also enhances the vitality of promoting Chinese tea culture internationally. It combines labor with tea art culture, bringing forth new vitality!
